Community Lottery prize for Bexhill resident
20 May 2022
Samantha Small took delivery of her new device recently after winning one of the additional lottery prizes on offer to players.
The Rother Community Lottery held its first draw at the end of April and weekly draws are taking place every Saturday evening to help raise funds for local good causes across the district.
In addition to the weekly cash prizes, the community lottery offers other prizes from time to time for players to win, with a Forest Holiday worth £1,000 the current prize on the website.
Samantha said: "Winning the iPad was a wonderful and unexpected surprise!
"The community lottery is a fantastic way to help support local good causes. By playing, people can make a big difference as the money goes to a local charity of your choice."
The launch has been a huge sucess with 60 not-for profit organisations already taking part and over 1,200 tickets sold.
Councillor Susan Prochak, Deputy Leader at Rother District Council, said: "Congratulations to Samantha on her recent lottery prize win.
"I am absolutely delighted with the success of the new community lottery, and look forward to seeing the initiative grow over the coming weeks and months. We've only had the first few draws so it is a fantastic achievement to see over 1,000 tickets sold and so many good causes on board already.
Don't forget to sign up for free if you run a local charity or community groups so you can share the funds generated every week.
